Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- La Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK), celebra este 8 de marzo el Dia Internacional de la Mujer como reconocimiento al ser más maravilloso de humanidad en sus diferentes concepciones de hija, hermana, esposa, madre, abuela, en fin, en cada una de las etapas de su vida como un referente integro y dedicado.
Cada 8 de marzo está dedicado a reconocer los logros de las mujeres y promover la igualdad de derechos en todo el mundo y que tiene sus raíces en los diferentes movimientos laborales y feministas de principios del siglo XX en los Estados Unidos y Europa.
En nuestro deporte y específicamente en todo el continente americano la mujer sobresale 
como atleta, entrenadora, arbitro y funciones organizativas sin dejar de lado la parte ejecutiva en federaciones nacionales y sus respectivas asociaciones, en papeles estelares.
Es así que el Comité Ejecutivo de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash y sus Federaciones Nacionales extienden una felicitación muy especial a la mujer en el deporte de kurash que la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) ha colocado este año 2026 bajo el lema “Derechos, Justicia y Acción para Todas las Mujeres y Niñas”.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.– The Panamerican Kurash Union (PKU) celebrates International Women’s Day this March 8th, recognizing women as the most wonderful beings in humanity, in their various roles as daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, grandmothers—in short, in every stage of their lives—as integral and dedicated role models.
Each March 8th is dedicated to recognizing women’s achievements and promoting equal rights worldwide, a movement rooted in the various labor and feminist movements of the 
early 20th century in the United States and Europe.
In our sport, and specifically throughout the Americas, women excel as athletes, coaches, referees, and in organizational roles, not to mention their leading positions in national federations and their respective associations.
The Executive Committee of the Panamerican Kurash Union and its National Federations extend their warmest congratulations to women in the sport of kurash, which the United Nations (UN) has designated as the theme for 2026 under the slogan “Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls.”
