Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- El Comité Organizador de los Campeonatos Panamericanos de Kurash, femenino y masculino a realizarse en esta ciudad caribeña del 4 al 8 de julio 2024, designo los respectivos Directores Técnicos del certamen atlético recayendo en el ingeniero Luis Bogantes el área deportiva y en el doctor Alquimedes Ortiz Cruz en lo que tiene que ver con el arbitraje.
El referido Comité Organizador esta integrado por el ingeniero Jaime Casanova Martínez, presidente de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash y por los doctores Israel Caraballo Jiménez y Alquimedes Ortiz Cruz quienes son presidente y vicepresidente de la Federación Dominicana de Kurash (Fedokurash), respectivamente.

La llamada Semana del Kurash Panamericano tendrá en su programación cursos de arbitraje, entrenamiento, campeonatos panamericanos y torneo internacional de kurash playa entre otras actividades las que están avaladas por la International Kurash Association (IKA) y la Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK) teniendo como organizadora a la Federación Dominicana de Kurash (Fedokurash).

A las actividades de la Semana Panamericana del Kurash se le ha cursado las correspondientes invitaciones a las delegaciones
representativas de Chile, Brasil, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Panamá, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, México, Estados Unidos, Cuba, Haití y los locales de la Republica Dominicana.
En los Campeonatos Panamericanos se estará compitiendo en 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, 78, 87 y mas de 87 kilogramos en la rama femenina y en 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100 y mas de 100 kilogramos en la masculina, todos con edad mínima de 18 años. El evento competitivo también servirá como clasificatorio para la Gran Final del Kurash World Series Pro (WSP2024) y las categorías de peso a considerar corresponden a 52, 63, 78 y mas de 78 kilogramos en femenino y 66, 73, 81, 90, 100 y mas de 100 kilogramos en masculino.
La Gran Final del Kurash World Series Pro se realizara en el mes de
noviembre en Tashkent la capital de Uzbekistán en el Asia Central y los clasificados recibirán boletos aéreos y estadía de parte de los organizadores, además, tendrán la opción de ser premiados con 10 mil, 5 mil y mil dólares americanos, respectivamente, de resultar ganadores del primer, segundo y tercer lugar de la justa mundialista.

Los organizadores definieron el programa general de la Semana Panamericana del Kurash teniendo el día 5 de julio los cursos de entrenamiento y arbitraje, el sábado 6 de julio los campeonatos Panamericanos y la clasificación para el World Series Pro, para el domingo 7 de julio el Torneo Internacional de Kurash Playa.
El día 6 de julio las actividades de los Campeonatos Panamericanos arrancan con el pesaje de los atletas de 9:00 AM a 10:00 AM, seguidamente se tiene prevista la ceremonia inaugural a las once de la mañana para iniciar de inmediato las competiciones en las diferentes categorías de peso tanto en femenino como en masculino. Las delegaciones serán recibidas el jueves 4 y la salida esta prevista para el lunes 8 de julio de la Semana Panamericana de Kurash que durante varios años se ha realizado en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.
El Comité organizador informo que se mantiene en sesión permanente tratando los temas de transporte, alojamiento, alimentación, inscripciones, pesaje, sorteo, manejo administrativo de los diferentes eventos, resultados estadísticos, programa inaugural, seguridad, llegadas y salidas de las diferentes delegaciones, entre otros importantes y diferentes renglones.
