UPK presenta resumen de actividades junio 2025

Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- El Comite Ejecutivo de la Union Panamericana de Kurash (UPK), presento el resumen de actividades realizadas durante todo el mes de junio 2025 de eventos tanto nacionales como continentales.
Al efecto, el pasado 9 de junio la Federacion Nicaraguense de Kurash (Fenikurash), informo del otorgamiento del premio al Atleta del Año 2024 que recayo en la joven atleta Cristhel Barrera quien recibio el galardon de las manos del presidente de la entidad federada el licenciado Frank Silva Urbina.
El 11 de junio la International Kurash Association (IKA), anuncio de la celebracion en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana de los Cursos y Seminarios de Abritraje y Entrenamiento a cargo del International Kurash Institute (IKI), asi mismo, del Congreso de la Union Panamericana de Kurash (UPK) y de los Campeonatos Panamericanos lo que a su vez servirian como clasificatorio para el World Series Pro 2025 (WSP), actividades en el marco de la Semana Panamericana del Kurash del 11 al 17 de junio.
En la programcion de la Semana Panamericana del Kurash el 13 de junio fue impartido el Curso de Entrenamiento en un enlace virtual desde Tashkent con renombrados expertos y la participacion en Santo Domingo de exponetes representando a Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Venezuela, Republica Dominicana, Panama, Brasil y Haiti, entre otros.
Ese mismo dia se desarrollo el Seminario de arbitraje con la instruccion del experto internacional el señor Eur Joong Kim donde tuvieron una activa y beneficiosa participacion quienes estuvieron encargados de impertir justicia en los Campeonatos Panamericanos de Kurash al dia siguiente.
Al finalizar los eventos de capacitacion tecnica los presentes recibieron los correspondietes diplomas de participacion en las actividades que fueron organizadas por la Federacion Dominicana de Kurash (Fedokurash) con el aval de la Union Panamericana de Kurash.
Para el 14 de junio, luego del pesaje y sorteo del dia anterior, se desarrollaron los Campeonatos Panamericanos en infantil, juvenil y senior, masculino y femenino.
Luego de la Ceremonia Inaugural fueron realizados los combates en las diferentes categorias de peso para concluir con las respectivas premiaciones del evento que se realizo en Andres, Boca Chica, por mas de cinco horas en dos areas de combate simultaneas de la actividad que fue calificada como espectacular.
El 15 de junio se desarrollo el ya tradicional Torneo Internacional de Kurash Playa en las arenas de municipo Boca Chica en un inmejorable ambiente caribeño con la presencia de autoridades de la Federacion de Kurash de Uzbekistan (UKF)
Siguiendo la via olimpica el 23 de junio nos hicimos eco del Dia Olimpico en celebracion de la formacion del Comite Olimpico Internacional en esa fecha, pero de 1894, por el baron Pierre Coubertin, frances.
Ese mismo dia sentimos el regocijo mundial por la transmison de mando en el Comite Olimpico Internacional a favor de Kirsty Coventry, siendo la primera mujer y africana, colocandose como la decima presidente del Comite Olimpico Internacional en sustitucion del aleman Thomas Bach.
Otro dia de celebracion lo fue el 25 de junio con el cumpleñlos de Mohammed Reza Nassiri, secretario general de la International Kurash Association y gran amigo de la Union Panamericana de Kurash quien participo en Santo Domingo de la Semana Panamericana del Kurash en 2023.
Asi, la Union Panamericana de Kurash realizo una importante programa de actividades bajo las directrices de su Comite Ejecutivo.

PKU presents summary of activities for June 2025

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Executive Committee of the Panamerican Kurash Union (UPK) presented a summary of activities carried out throughout the month of June 2025 at both national and continental events.
To this end, on June 9, the Nicaraguan Kurash Federation (Fenikurash) announced the awarding of the 2024 Athlete of the Year to young athlete Cristhel Barrera, who received the award from the president of the federation, Frank Silva Urbina.
On June 11, the International Kurash Association (IKA) announced the holding of Opening and Training Courses and Seminars in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, led by the International Kurash Institute (IKI).
The Panamerican Kurash Union (PKU) Congress and the Panamerican Championships will also serve as qualifiers for the 2025 World Series Pro (WSP). These events will be part of the Pan American Kurash Week, held from June 11 to 17.
The Panamerican Kurash Week program on June 13 included a Training Course delivered via virtual link from Tashkent with renowned experts, and the participation of exhibitors representing Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Brazil, and Haiti, among others, in Santo Domingo.
That same day, the Refereeing Seminar was held, instructed by international expert Mr. Eur Joong Kim, with active and beneficial participation by those responsible for administering justice at the Panamerican Kurash Championships the following day.
At the end of the technical training events, those present received the corresponding certificates of participation in the activities organized by the Dominican Kurash Federation (Fedokurash) with the endorsement of the Panamerican Kurash Union.

On June 14, following the weigh-in and draw the day before, the Panamerican Championships were held for children, youth, and senior men and women.
Following the Opening Ceremony, the bouts in the different weight categories took place, concluding with the respective awards ceremony.
The event took place in Andres, Boca Chica, for more than five hours in two simultaneous combat areas, and the activity was described as spectacular.
On June 15, the now traditional International Beach Kurash Tournament took place on the sands of the Boca Chica municipality in an unbeatable Caribbean atmosphere, with the presence of officials from the Uzbekistan Kurash Federation (UKF).
Continuing the Olympic path, on June 23, we echoed Olympic Day in celebration of the formation of the International Olympic Committee on that date, but in 1894, by the Frenchman Baron Pierre Coubertin.
That same day, we felt the worldwide rejoicing at the transfer of power in the International Olympic Committee to Kirsty Coventry, the first woman and African, becoming the tenth president of the International Olympic Committee, replacing the German Thomas Bach.
Another day of celebration was June 25th, the birthday of Mohammed Reza Nassiri, Secretary General of the International Kurash Association and a close friend of the Pan American Kurash Union, who participated in the Panamerican Kurash Week in Santo Domingo in 2023.
Thus, the Panamerican Kurash Union carried out an important program of activities under the directives of its Executive Committee.
