Federación Nicaragüense de Kurash integra Academia de Artes Marciales
Managua, Nicaragua. – El 13 de abril 2026 nació la Academia de Artes Marciales «UNITEC» en lo que es el desarrollo deportivo para estudiantes y comunidades con el apoyo de la Asociación de Kurash Managua y la Federación Nicaragüense de Kurash (Fenikurash), y de igual manera el soporte del Consejo Deportivo del Distrito 1.2 con su Comisión Técnica de Deportes Marciales.
Entre los objetivos más importantes de este proyecto esta implementar la práctica del kurash y otros artes marciales a la vez que dan soporte a deportes colectivos que la universidad tiene en desarrollo en el Auditorio Guardabarranco.
Las autoridades presentes en el acto fueron Alama Alicia Gutiérrez, rectora; Frank Silva Urbina y José Domingo Vázquez, presidente y tesorero, respectivamente, de la Federación Nicaragüense de Kurash; Jorge García, promotor deportivo; Stephanny Montiel, responsable de Bienestar Estudiantil; Cedric Muller, 
responsable de deportes y Fatiana Rocha, analista de Bienestar Estudiantil, entre otras personalidades.
En la inauguración y luego de la actividad protocolar se realizaron exhibiciones de diferentes deportes donde resalto la de kurash y sus explicaciones del origen de esta 
ancestral disciplina de más de 3500 año de tradición ininterrumpida y que es sumamente popular en toda el Asia Central con el soporte de la International Kuash Association (IKA).
Kurash, llamada la Madre de todas las Artes Marciales se difunde en todos los continentes y más de 130 países realizando importantes 
eventos nacionales e internacionales en el ámbito infantil, juvenil y senior; femenino y masculino, a la vez que tiene acuerdos y colabora estrechamente con importantes organizaciones mundiales como la Agencia Mundial Antidopaje, Consejo Internacional de Deportes Militares, Foro de Etnosport, Convención de SportAccord, Consejo Olímpico de Asia, entre otras.
«Estamos muy satisfechos con la apertura de esta Academia UNITEC la que va a eficientizar la práctica del kurash en la misma lo que no va a permitir el fomento y desarrollo de nuestra disciplina en esa instalación lo que agradecemos a los patrocinadores», así se expresó el licenciado Frank Silva Urbina, presidente de la Federación Nicaragüense de Kurash (Fenikurash) al finalizar el acto.

Nicaraguan Kurash Federation Integrates Martial Arts Academy
Managua, Nicaragua.– On April 13, 2026, the «UNITEC» Martial Arts Academy was founded to promote sports development for students and communities. It was established with the support of the Managua Kurash Association and the Nicaraguan Kurash Federation (Fenikurash), as well as the District 1.2 Sports Council and its Martial Arts Technical Commission.
Among the most important objectives of this project is to implement the practice of kurash and other martial arts, while also supporting team sports that the university is developing in the Guardabarranco Auditorium.
Authorities present at the event included Alicia Gutiérrez, Rector; Frank Silva Urbina and José Domingo Vázquez, President and Treasurer, respectively, of the Nicaraguan Kurash Federation; Jorge García, Sports Promoter; and Stephanny Montiel, Head of Student Welfare; Cedric Muller, head of sports, and Fatiana Rocha, Student Welfare analyst, were among the dignitaries present.
Following the opening ceremony and the official proceedings, demonstrations of various sports were held, with a highlight being kurash.
The demonstrations included explanations of the origins of this ancient discipline, which boasts over 3,500 years of uninterrupted tradition and is extremely popular throughout Central Asia, supported by the International Kurash Association (IKA).
Kurash, known as the Mother of all Martial Arts, is practiced across all continents and in more than 130 countries, holding important national and international events for children, youth, and seniors, as well as for both men and women.
The IKA also maintains agreements and collaborates closely with major global organizations such as the World Anti-Doping Agency, the International Military Sports Council, the Ethnosport Forum, the SportAccord Convention, and the Asian Olympic Council, among others.
