San Cristobal, República Dominicana.- En la continuación de las actividades de la Semana del Kurash Panamericano las mismas se trasladaron a esta ciudad Cuna de la Constitución Dominicana para desarrollar los Campeonaros Panamericanos de Kurash Abiertos en infantil, juvenil y senior, tanto en femenino como en masculino con la organización de la Federacion Dominicana de Kurash, Fedokurash, y el aval de la Union Panamericana de la disciplina de origen uzbeco.

La inauguración con el desfile de las diferentes organizaciones participantes, himno nacional, palabras de bienvenida a cargo del profesor Israel Caraballo en su calidad de presidente de la Fedokurash para acto seguido tomar la palabra el señor Jaime Casanova Martinez quien como presidente de la Union Panamericana de Kurash dijo sentirse altamente satisfecho por la importante participación de atletas dominicanos y de igual manera de Haití, Venezuela, Ecuador, Estados Unidos, entre otros paises.

También hizo uso de la palabra el profesor Eliseo Romero en su calidad de director Regional del Ministerio de Deportes y Recreacion, colaborador de las diferentes actividades deportivas.

Luego del retiro de los equipos de las diferentes delegaciones participantes se iniciaron los combates en dos áreas de competición por espacio de cinco horas.

La República Dominicana obtuvo el primer lugar de la justa panamericana con trece preseas de oro, trece de plata y quince de bronce para llevarse la Gran Copa Panamericana de Kurash.

Por otra parte Haití logró el segundo lugar con dos medallas de oro, una de plata y una de bronce

El tercer lugar lo fue para los representantes de Ecuador con una de oro e igual cantidad de bronce haciendo su primera incursion a nivel panamericano.

El honroso cuanto lugar correspondió a la delegacion de los Estados Unidos con una plata y un bronce en la justa que conto con un numeroso publico durante todo el transcurso de la actividad marcial.

Previo a los combates finales se presentó a la justa deportiva el inmortal del deporte dominicano el ingeniero Generoso Montero quien es presidente de la Confederacion Dominicana de Artes Marciales (Confedoarma) quien exhorto a la practica de las Artes Marciales como medio de superacion personal como legado a la sociedad.

Los ganadores de medallas de oro por República Dominicana fueron Junior Ramirez, Enmanuel Abreu, Israel Caraballo Puello, Gabriel Vizcaino, Junior Contreras, Cristoper Sanchez, Josias Vizcaino, Hensi Puello, Yairis Mirabal, Lianny Pichardo, Arilesi Medina, Marcos Perez y Angel Guerrero.

Por Haiti Yvrose Timeris y Edelene Mondely lograron medallas de oro en sus respectivas categorias y por otra parte Jacson Brierre obtuvo medalla de plata y Wolf Ronald con una presea de bronce.

Ecuador gano una medalla de oro y una de bronce en Juan Pablo Cadena y Cesar Naranjo, respectivamente

Los Estados Unidos  tuvieron en Jean Michel Abreu con una presa de plata y Jezebal Abreu medalla de bronce en el certamen atletico que fue realizado en el Pabellon de Combates del Multiuso Ciro Perez de la ciudad sancristobalense.

Las diferentes premiaciones fueron realizadas por Israel Caraballo Jimenez, Jaime Casanova Martinez, Generoso Montero, Jesse Diaz, Elvis Mateo, Franklin Perez, Naranjo, Ulrick Louis-Charles, Jesse Diaz, Jules Andre Sterling, Floresmilo Naranjo Bonilla, Rossy Martinez, entre otros.

Los participantes y publico en general dijeron sentirse satisfechos con las competiciones y organizacion del evento continental.

Dominican, Haiti and Ecuador Dominate the Pan American Open Kurash Championships

San Cristobal, Dominican Republic.- In the continuation of the activities of the Pan American Kurash Week, they moved to this city Cradle of the Dominican Constitution to develop the Open Pan American Kurash Championships in children, youth and senior, both in women and in masculine with the organization of the Dominican Federation of Kurash, Fedokurash, and the endorsement of the Pan-American Union of the discipline of Uzbek origin.
The inauguration with the parade of the different participating organizations, national anthem, words of welcome by Professor Israel Caraballo in his capacity as president of the Fedokurash, followed by the speech of Mr. Jaime Casanova Martinez who, as president of the Pan American Union of Kurash said he felt highly satisfied with the important participation of Dominican athletes and likewise from Haiti, Venezuela, Ecuador, the United States, among other countries.
Professor Eliseo Romero also spoke in his capacity as Regional Director of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, collaborator of the different sports activities.
After the withdrawal of the teams from the different participating delegations, the combats began in two competition areas for five hours.
The Dominican Republic won first place in the Pan American fair with thirteen gold, thirteen silver and fifteen bronze medals to win the Kurash Grand Pan American Cup.
On the other hand, Haiti achieved second place with two gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
The third place went to the representatives of Ecuador with a gold and an equal amount of bronze, making their first foray into the Pan-American level.
The honorable place went to the delegation of the United States with a silver and a bronze in the fair that had a large audience throughout the course of the martial activity.
