Haider Farman: We hope that 2023 will be a doping-free year for Kurash

Kurash is an honest and equal sport. The word “kurash” means struggle but the word has a deeper meaning: a direct way to victory.
The International Kurash Association has been a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency since 2010.
The IKA has previously adopted all of WADA’s major doping requirements. The Prohibited Substances and Preparations announced annually apply to all our players and coaches through our social media.
As of this year – 2023 at all continental, World Championships, and selected International tournaments including WSP ( World Series Pro), Asian Games, and Indoor Games, test samples are taken from winners and other participants.
However, several unpleasant situations have been observed.
When analyzing the period from 2010 to today, over 15 cases of violation of anti-doping occurred. Out of these positive tests, there were mainly male athletes, including 4 female athletes. Of the substances taken, most of the substances used were anabolic steroids and stimulators.
Athletes who tested positive were sentenced per WADA rules and regulations for 2 – 4 years and banned from all sports activities.
However, there is another side to the matter. It is not correct to blame only the athlete here. It wouldn’t be unfair to say that those who created the conditions for them, did not guide them accordingly, and did not inform them about the negative aspects of doping in time, are equally guilty, and all of this is due to the lack of knowledge.
First, coaches are responsible for organizing the work correctly and preventing athletes from using prohibited drugs. In addition, the officials of national federations should also put the issue of responsibility for doping on the agenda and work closely with the local National Anti-Doping Agency ( NADO).

Starting from 2023, with the new contract being made between WADA, International Test Agency (ITA), and IKA we will witness many positive works in cleaning our sport, In accordance with the contract made to the value of $150000 we will see Educational seminars in 6 different languages ( English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish ), Educational Workshops, on sight seminars, registration of elite athletes, whereabouts, ADAMS – anti-doping administration and management system, TUE therapeutic use exemption, Speak UP! report-doping, whistleblower platform, Anti-Doping Process…

An Elite athlete rating system will also be introduced. Qualified athletes will be under anti-doping control regardless of the competition period.

Currently, under the leadership of the IKA Medical Chairman Dr.Park and IKA General Secretary Reza Nassiri, the current year’s Anti-Doping Activities Program is being developed based on the recommendations of WADA and ITA experts. A detailed program of events will be announced soon.
The goal of all of this is to further increase the attractiveness of kurash and present kurash as an honest sport to the world.
We have a lot to do in this regard but I am confident that together, as one family, we will achieve our goals.

Kurash es un deporte honesto e igualitario. La palabra “kurash” significa lucha pero la palabra tiene un significado más profundo: un camino directo a la victoria.
La Asociación Internacional Kurash es miembro de la Agencia Mundial Antidopaje desde 2010.
La IKA ha adoptado previamente todos los principales requisitos antidopaje de la AMA. Las Sustancias y Preparados Prohibidos anunciados anualmente se aplican a todos nuestros jugadores y entrenadores a través de nuestras redes sociales.
A partir de este año, 2023, en todos los campeonatos continentales, mundiales y torneos internacionales seleccionados, incluidos WSP (World Series Pro), Asian Games y Indoor Games, se toman muestras de prueba de los ganadores y otros participantes.
Sin embargo, se han observado varias situaciones desagradables.
Al analizar el período desde 2010 hasta hoy, se produjeron más de 15 casos de violación de las normas antidopaje. De estas pruebas positivas, hubo principalmente atletas masculinos, incluidas 4 atletas femeninas. De las sustancias tomadas, la mayoría de las sustancias utilizadas fueron esteroides anabólicos y estimuladores.
Los atletas que dieron positivo fueron sentenciados según las normas y reglamentos de la AMA de 2 a 4 años y se les prohibió participar en todas las actividades deportivas.
Sin embargo, hay otro lado del asunto. No es correcto culpar aquí solo al atleta. No sería injusto decir que aquellos que crearon las condiciones para ellos, no los guiaron en consecuencia y no les informaron a tiempo sobre los aspectos negativos del dopaje, son igualmente culpables, y todo esto se debe a la falta del conocimiento.
En primer lugar, los entrenadores son responsables de organizar correctamente el trabajo y evitar que los deportistas consuman drogas prohibidas. Además, los funcionarios de las federaciones nacionales también deben incluir el tema de la responsabilidad por el dopaje en la agenda y trabajar en estrecha colaboración con la Agencia Nacional Antidopaje (NADO) local.

A partir de 2023, con el nuevo contrato realizado entre la AMA, la Agencia Internacional de Pruebas (ITA) y la IKA, seremos testigos de muchos trabajos positivos en la limpieza de nuestro deporte. De acuerdo con el contrato realizado por valor de $150 000, veremos seminarios educativos en 6 idiomas diferentes (inglés, árabe, chino, francés, ruso y español), talleres educativos, seminarios presenciales, registro de atletas de élite, paradero, ADAMS: sistema de gestión y administración antidopaje, TUE exención de uso terapéutico, Speak UP! reporte de dopaje, plataforma de denuncias, Proceso Antidopaje…

También se introducirá un sistema de clasificación de atletas de élite. Los atletas clasificados estarán bajo control antidopaje independientemente del período de competencia.

Actualmente, bajo el liderazgo del presidente médico de la IKA, Dr. Park, y el secretario general de la IKA, Reza Nassiri, el Programa de actividades antidopaje del año en curso se está desarrollando en base a las recomendaciones de los expertos de la AMA y la ITA. Próximamente se anunciará un programa detallado de eventos.
El objetivo de todo esto es aumentar aún más el atractivo del kurash y presentar el kurash como un deporte honesto al mundo.
Tenemos mucho que hacer en este sentido, pero confío en que juntos, como una sola familia, lograremos nuestros objetivos.
