IKA SUSPENDS TWO ATHLETES FOR ANTI-DOPING RULES VIOLATION

The Anti-Doping Commission of the International Kurash Association suspends two athletes from Uzbekistan for violating anti-doping rules.

Samples of two athletes taken during the World Senior Kurash Championships and the World Martial Arts Masterships held in September 2019 in Korea, revealed the presence of substances prohibited by the WADA.

The sample of Gulnоr Sulaymanova (winner in the women’s weight category under 52 kg), revealed the presence of the Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone metabolite.

The sample of Abror Jabborov (winner in the men’s weight category under 60 kg), revealed the presence of the Furosemide diuretic.

In compliance with the decision of the anti-doping commission, G. Sulaymanova is suspended from participation in competitions for a period of 4 years, A. Jabborov — for 2 years.

The results of these athletes at the World Senior Kurash Championships and the World Martial Arts Masterships in Korea are also canceled. As a result, the gold medal in the women’s weight category under 52 kg is awarded to Aynur Amanova (Turkmenistan); and the gold medal in the men’s weight category under 60 kg – to Shamuhammet Kurbanov, also an athlete from Turkmenistan.
