KURASH CHILE
Chile’s participation in Kurash events dates back more than 10 years with the holding of national competitions in the capital Santiago de Chile.
Also incursion in international events in Uzbekistan, Argentina and the Dominican Republic, among others, with marked medal success.
It is precisely that for many years they have made an appearance at the Panamerican Kurash Championships and the International Kurash Beach Tournaments.
The most recent actions of Kurash in Chile have been the responsibility of Elizabeth Thompson who, as a hard-working leader, has promoted and fostered the National Championships in her native Chile, Metropolitan Region, holding national events with the members of the Fantuzzi Kurash Chile Club and the Kurash Recoleta Hermanas Mirabal Club with Jorge Vallejos Salgado also as leader.
Elizabeth Thompson is a member of the Executive Committee of the Panamerican Kurash Unión (UPK).
The technical part of this millennial sport with more than 3,500 years of existence is in the hands of the renowned Chilean coach, Professor Lizardo Suazo.
Currently, both Chile and other National Federations affiliated to the Panamerican Kurash Union (UPK) carry out the formalities of place to achieve the inclusion of this discipline in the next Panamerican Games 2023 to be held in Santiago de Chile under the umbrella of Panam Sports , former PASO, currently chaired by the Chilean citizen Neven Llic.
The Kurash discipline has been part of the Official Program of the Asian Games since 2018 with the absolute support of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)
The National Federation of Kurash of Chile (Fenakurash) is a member of the Panamerican Kurash Unión (UPK) and the parent organization worldwide the International Kurash Association (IKA)

La participación de Chile en eventos de Kurash data de más de 10 años con la realización de certámenes nacionales en la capital Santiago de Chile.
Así mismo incursión en eventos internacionales en Uzbekistan, Argentina y República Dominicana, entre otros, con marcado éxito medallistico.
Es precisamente que por largos años han hecho acto de presencia en los Campeonatos Panamericanos de Kurash y en los Torneos Internacionales de Kurash Playa.
Las acciones más recientes del Kurash en Chile han sido responsabilidad de Elizabeth Thompson quien como esforzada dirigente ha promovido y fomentado los Campeonatos Nacionales en su natal Chile, Region Metropolitana, realizando los eventos nacionales de la mano de los integrantes del Club Fantuzzi kurash Chile y del Club Kurash Recoleta Hermanas Mirabal con Jorge Vallejos Salgado también como dirigente.
Elizabeth Thompson es miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK)
La parte técnica de este milenario deporte con más de 3500 años de existencia está de la mano del reputado técnico chileno el profesor Lizardo Suazo.
En la actualidad tanto como Chile y otras Federaciones Nacionales afiliadas a la Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK) realizan las diligencias de lugar para lograr la inclusión de esta disciplina en los próximos Juegos Panamericanos 2023 a realizar en Santiago de Chile bajo la sombrilla de Panam Sports , antigua ODEPA, que preside en la actualidad el ciudadano chileno Neven Llic.
La disciplina de Kurash ya forma parte del Programa Oficial de los Juegos Asiáticos desde el año 2018 con el apoyo absoluto del Consejo Olímpico de Asía (OCA)
La Federación Nacional de Kurash de Chile (Fenakurash) es miembro de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK) y la organización matriz a nivel mundial la International Kurash Association (IKA)
