Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- Las instalaciones del Comité Olímpico Dominicano (COD) sirvieron de escenario para la realización de la reunión donde se dio seguimiento a la solicitud previa de inclusión del Kurash en los próximos Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe a realizarse en la ciudad de Panamá para el 2022.
Al efecto el licenciado Luisin Mejia Oviedo en su condición de titular de la Organización Deportiva Centroamericana y del Caribe, Odecabe, dio la bienvenida a los señores Jaime Casanova Martinez, presidente de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash y al profesor Israel Caraballo Jimenez, presidente de la Federación Dominicana de Kurash (Fedokurash) acompañados a su vez del señor Jose Rafael Suarez, miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la Fedokurash.
A la reunión se integraron Luis Elpidio Cumba, Canciller de Odecabe y el doctor Luis Felipe Rosa Hernandez quien es consultor jurídico del Comité Olímpico Dominicano.
El licenciado Mejia Oviedo explico ampliamente los procedimientos para lograr la inclusión del Kurash en los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe a la vez que Casanova Martinez le informo de las diligencias realizadas en la pasada administración de la Odecabe para lograr ese objetivo.
“Fue una excelente reunión donde el Presidente Mejia trazó la ruta a seguir de acuerdo al procedimiento de la Odecabe para que el Kurash se integre plenamente a los próximos Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe a realizarse en Panama 2022” dijo Jaime Casanova al finalizar la reunión.
KURASH REQUESTS INCLUSION IN CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- The facilities of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) served as the setting for the meeting where the previous request for inclusion of the Kurash in the next Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in the city was followed from Panama by 2022.
To that effect, Mr. Luisin Mejia Oviedo, in his capacity as head of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization, Odecabe, welcomed Mr. Jaime Casanova Martinez, president of the Panamerican Kurash Union and Professor Israel Caraballo Jimenez, president of the Dominican Kurash Federation Fedokurash) accompanied in turn by Mr. Jose Rafael Suarez, member of the Fedokurash Executive Committee.
The meeting was joined by Luis Elpidio Cumba, Chancellor of Odecabe and Dr. Luis Felipe Rosa Hernandez who is a legal consultant for the Dominican Olympic Committee.
Mr. Mejia Oviedo explained the procedures to achieve the inclusion of Kurash in the Central American and Caribbean Games at the same time that Casanova Martinez informed him of the steps taken in the past administration of the Odecabe to achieve that goal.
“It was an excellent meeting where President Mejia outlined the route to follow according to the Odecabe procedure so that the Kurash fully integrates the next Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Panama 2022,” said Jaime Casanova at the end of the meeting.
