Miembro del Comité Olímpico Internacional, Luis Mejía, recibe promoción de los Campeonatos Mundiales de Kurash 2022.
Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- En el marco del Torneo Voleibol Final Six realizado en la capital dominicana el licenciado Luis Mejía Oviedo, miembro del Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI), recibió la promoción de los Campeonatos Mayores de Kurash, femenino y masculino a realizarse en Pune, India del 23 al 28 noviembre 2022.
La actividad se desarrolló en el Palacio del Voleibol Gioriver Arias donde la escuadra dominicana, Las Reinas del Caribe, se impusieron invictos frente a sus contrarias en todos sus encuentros contándose entre ellas a Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico, México, Cuba y Canadá.
Luis Mejía Oviedo, dominicano, presidente de Centro Caribe Sport, antigua Odecabe, entidad responsable de los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe y pasado presidente del Comité Olímpico Dominicano quien es una figura deportiva de primer orden en Centro América y el Caribe manifestó sentirse muy satisfecho con la promoción ya que conoce la disciplina del kurash desde hace
varios años y del empuje de esta a nivel mundial.
En la actividad también participó el señor Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz quien es presidente de la Unión Panamericana de Voleibol y vicepresidente de la Federación Mundial de Voleibol (FIVB) y principal dirigente de las Selecciones Nacionales Femeninas de Voleibol
La entrega promocional estuvo a cargo de Jaime Casanova Martínez en su condición de presidente de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash, vicepresidente de la International Kurash Association (IKA).

Member of the International Olympic Committee, Luis Mejía, receives promotion from the 2022 World Kurash Championships.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- Within the framework of the Final Six Volleyball Tournament held in the Dominican capital, Mr. Luis Mejía Oviedo, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), received the promotion of the Senior Kurash Championships, female and male, to be held in Pune, India from November 23 to 28, 2022.
The activity took place at the Gioriver Arias Volleyball Palace where the Dominican squad, Las Reinas del Caribe, prevailed undefeated against their opponents in all their matches, including the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba and Canada.
Luis Mejía Oviedo, Dominican, president of Centro Caribe Sport, former CACSO, entity responsible for the Central American and Caribbean Games and past president of the Dominican Olympic Committee who is a leading sports figure in Central America and the Caribbean, said he was very satisfied with the promotion since he has known the discipline of kurash for several years and the thrust of this worldwide.
Mr. Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz also participated in the activity, who is president of the Pan American Volleyball Union and vice president of the World Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and main leader of the Women’s National Volleyball Teams.
The promotional delivery was in charge of Jaime Casanova Martínez in his capacity as president of the Pan American Kurash Union, vice president of the International Kurash Association (IKA).
