Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.- The first day of the 14th World Senior Kurash Championship has ended at the Basa-Bas sports complex.

The strongest Kurash athletes in 8 weight categories presented dramatic competitions. On the first day of the Kurash festival, there was no better athlete then Erkin Kozokov, the representative of the homeland of Kurash in the -90 kg weight category. In the final, Erkin Kozokov, who defeated Sanjar Abdurakhmanov, the representative of the hosts, became the world champion.

Jamshid Mamatrakhimov from Uzbekistan victorious among all his opponents in the 100 kg weight category. In the final, Iranian HAMED RASHIDI could not overcome Jamshid’s hurdle.

Muhsin Hisomiddinov, who won the World Series Pro tournament for the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan yesterday in Tashkent, will return from Ashgabat with a gold medal in the absolute weight category. In the final, Iranian ABOLFAZL TORABI was defeated by Halal method score.

The debates between women were also interesting. Especially performances of the host’s representatives made the whole hall stand on its feet.

Maria Lokhova, DINARA ROZYKULOVA were awarded the gold medal of the world championship held at homeland. NGUYEN THI BICH NGOC from Vietnam was found unbeatable in the 57 kg weight category.

Ashgabat, Turkmenistán.- El primer día del 14º Campeonato Mundial Senior de Kurash ha finalizado en el Complejo Deportivo Basa-Bas.

Los atletas más fuertes de Kurash en 8 categorías de peso presentaron competiciones dramáticas. El primer día del festival de Kurash no había mejor atleta que Erkin Kozokov, representante de la patria de Kurash en la categoría de -90 kg. En la final, Erkin Kozokov derrotó a Sanjar Abdurakhmanov y se convirtió en campeón del mundo.

Jamshid Mamatrakhimov de Uzbekistán venció entre todos sus oponentes en la categoría de 100 kg. En la final, el iraní Hamed Rashidi no pudo superar el obstáculo de Jamshid.

Muhsin Hisomiddinov, que ayer ganó el torneo World Series Pro en Tashkent, regresará de Ashgabat con una medalla de oro en la categoría de peso absoluto. En la final, el iraní ABOLFAZL TORABI fue derrotado por el método Halal.

También fueron interesantes los debates entre las mujeres. Especialmente las actuaciones de los representantes del anfitrión hicieron que toda la sala se pusiera de pie.
