THE ORIGIN OF APRIL6
On 23 August 2013 the UN General Assembly with the support of the International Olympic Committee declared April 6th as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This decision represented a historic step in recognizing the transformative power of sport and its boundless potential to advance positive social change.
There are two ways to get involved.

El 23 de agosto de 2013, la Asamblea General de la ONU con el apoyo del Comité Olímpico Internacional declaró el 6 de abril como el Día Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz (IDSDP) en la sede de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York.
Esta decisión representó un paso histórico para reconocer el poder transformador del deporte y su potencial ilimitado para avanzar en un cambio social positivo.
Hay dos formas de involucrarse.

Registering the affected global exposure project, joining an active alliance of 3456 global initiatives and could potentially win the April 6 Initiative of the Year Award at the International Forum on Peace and Sport

Al registro del proyecto obtendrá exposición global, uniéndose a una alianza activa de 3456 iniciativas mundiales y potencialmente podría ganar el Premio a la Iniciativa del Año del 6 de abril en el Foro Internacional de Paz y Deporte.

WHITE CARD
The #WhiteCard is a worldwide digital campaign created by Peace and Sport that promotes the positive and constructive values of sport.

Every year the #WhiteCard campaign reaches millions of people through social media. Holding up a #WhiteCard, just like a referee, has been recognized as the symbol of the peace-through-sport movement. In contrast to the red card, which signifies the most serious offense in sport, the #WhiteCard is a gesture of inclusion, equality and peace.

Symbolically, the #WhiteCard enables sport organizations, international institutions, governments, athletes and civil society to take action and promote themselves within the sport-for-development-and-peace movement and identify themselves as being socially aware and committed.

CARTA BLANCA (WhiteCard)
La #WhiteCard es una campaña digital mundial creada por Peace and Sport que promueve los valores positivos y constructivos del deporte. Cada año, la campaña #WhiteCard llega a millones de personas a través de las redes sociales. Sostener una #WhiteCard, al igual que un árbitro, ha sido reconocido como el símbolo del movimiento de paz a través del deporte. En contraste con la tarjeta roja, que significa la ofensa más grave en el deporte, la #WhiteCard es un gesto de inclusión, igualdad y paz. Simbólicamente, la #WhiteCard permite que organizaciones deportivas, instituciones internacionales, gobiernos, atletas y la sociedad civil tomen medidas y se promuevan dentro del movimiento de deporte para el desarrollo y la paz y se identifiquen como socialmente conscientes y comprometidos.

BENEFITS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE
Sport offers many benefits, including individual development, health promotion and disease prevention, gender equality, social integration, peace-building or conflict prevention/resolution and post-disaster/trauma assistance. From a development perspective, the goal is to enhance mass sport, not elite sport.

In this sense, sport is used to reach the most needy, including refugees, child soldiers, victims of conflict and natural disasters, poor people, people with disabilities, victims of racism, stigma and discrimination. Today, organizations like the United Nations do not only rely on institutions like schools and governments to solve conflict.

BENEFICIOS PARA EL DESARROLLO Y LA PAZ
El deporte ofrece muchos beneficios, que incluyen el desarrollo individual, la promoción de la salud y la prevención de enfermedades, la igualdad de género, la integración social, la consolidación de la paz o la prevención / resolución de conflictos y la asistencia post-desastre / trauma. Desde una perspectiva de desarrollo, el objetivo es mejorar el deporte de masas, no el deporte de élite.En este sentido, el deporte se utiliza para llegar a los más necesitados, incluidos refugiados, niños soldados, víctimas de conflictos y desastres naturales, personas pobres, personas con discapacidad, víctimas de racismo, estigma y discriminación. Hoy, organizaciones como las Naciones Unidas no solo dependen de instituciones como escuelas y gobiernos para resolver conflictos.
