Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- El Comite Ejecutivo de la Union Panamericana de Kurash (UPK), presento un recuento de las principales actividades realizadas durante el pasado mes de marzo 2025.
Los eventos realizados corresponden a cursos, seminarios, campeonatos y diferentes celebraciones a cargo de la entidad continental y las diferentes organizaciones nacionales afiliadas.
Veamos el recuento de parte de las actividades de marzo 2025, detallamos:
El 29 de marzo la Federacion Dominicana de Kurash, Fedokurash, realizo un Curso Nacional de Arbitraje y el Manejo de Eventos de Elite con la amplia participacion de arbitros y personal del area deportiva recibiendo la instruccion de calificados instructores de nacionalidad dominicana. Al finalizar todos recibieron el correspondiente certificado de participacion a los presentes.
Este 29 de marzo inició el seminario «Derribando tus miedos» con la participacion de Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Republica Dominicana, Estados Unidos, entre otros. El conclave en cuestion concluirá en la proxima fecha del 5 de abril donde y en base a la participacion se entregaran los correspondientes diplomas de participacion.
El 25 de marzo diferentes personas participaraon en el curso mensual de la International Testing Agency bajo el titulo «Pregunte al Experto: Pruebas», a cargo de Jack Pinnick-Gray en una sesion que ofrecio una amplia vision general del tema con perspectivas practicas y respuestas expertas. Fue una gran enseñanza del problema de los diferentes temas del dopaje en los deportes.
El 24 de marzo la Union Panamericana de Kurash anunció de los preparativos para la celebracion del Dia Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz a realizarse el proximo 6 de abril como ha sido una importante actividad que promueve las Naciones Unidas y Peace and Sport. Diferentes actividades son compatibles con este Dia Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz.
Para el 21 de marzo la Union Panamericana de Kurash se hizo eco por intermedio de su pagina web, www.kurashpanam.org , de la eleccion en primera vuelta de la laureada atleta olimpica, Kirsty Coventry, como la hasta ahora unica mujer presidenta del Comite Olimpico Internacional (COI). Un dato relevante es que ella representa a Zimbabue en el contienete africano lo que es un importante ito en el deporte e nivel mundial.
En ciudad de Mexico se desarrollo el II Torneo Internacional de Kurash el 16 de marzo con la organizacion de la Federacion Mexica de Kurash, Femekurash, superando diferentes situaciones dificiles para la realizacion del certamen atletico que forma parte de los calendarios de actividades de la Union Panamericana de Kurash y de la International Kurash Association.
El 17 de marzo la Union Panamericana de Kurash publico un articulo donde hace un recuento de los Torneos Internacionales de Playa realizados durante varios años en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana como soporte a nivel mundial del afianzamiento de esta modalidad. Esta modalidad se promueve como un atractivo turistico del que Republica Dominicana es un excelente mentor.
Fue el 19 de marzo cuando la Federacion Dominicana de Kurash, Fedokurash, presento un video promocional de los proximos Campeonatos Panamericanos que se desarrollaran en las ramas de femenino y masculino de la ancestral disciplina de origen en la Republica de Uzbekistan los que tienen su sede fijada en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana del 12 al 16 de junio 2025. Estos Campeonatos serviran como evento clasificatorio al World Series Pro 2025.
El 8 de marzo en el Dia Internacional de la Mujer en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana se hizo una importante celebracion realizada en la Plaza Maria Trnidad Sanchez, heroina dominicana, donde se resalto el tema del presente año que dicto las Naciones Unidas bajo el titulo «Para todas las mujeres y niñas: Derechos de Igualdad». Otros paises como Costa Rica, Mexico y Venezuela dijeron presente en la celebracion.
Para el 7 de marzo la Union Panamericana de Kurash anuncio la realizacion del Seminario bajo el titulo «Derribando tus miedos» cuyo inicio fue el 29 de marzo y que contó con la colaboracion de la Federacion Mexicana de Kurash (Femekurash) y la coordinacion de la direccion de tecnologia de la Union Panamericana de Kurash.
La actividad de la Federacion Nicaraguense de Kurash, Fenikurash, fue el 6 de marzo cuando concluyo el Seminario de actualizacion del Arbitraje que se desarrollo en el departamento de Chinandega cuya asociacion local tuvo a su cargo la organizacion del evento y donde, ademas, participo una importante representacion de la hermana Republica de Honduras.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Executive Committee of the Panamerican Kurash Union (PKU) presented a summary of the main activities carried out during the month of March 2025.
The events held included courses, seminars, championships, and various celebrations organized by the continental entity and its various affiliated national organizations.
Below is a summary of some of the activities for March 2025:
On March 29, the Dominican Kurash Federation (Fedokurash) held a National Course on Refereeing and Elite Event Management, with the extensive participation of referees and sports personnel, who received instruction from qualified Dominican instructors. At the end, everyone received their certificate of participation.
On March 29, the seminar «Destroying Your Fears» began with the participation of Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, the United States, among others. The conference in question will conclude on April 5th, where certificates of participation will be awarded based on participation.
On March 25th, various participants participated in the International Testing Agency’s monthly course entitled «Ask the Expert: Testing,» led by Jack Pinnick-Gray. The session offered a broad overview of the topic with practical perspectives and expert responses. It provided a valuable insight into the various issues of doping in sports.
On March 24th, the Panamerican Kurash Union announced preparations for the celebration of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, to be held on April 6th, as it has been an important activity promoted by the United Nations and Peace and Sport. Various activities are supported by this International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
On March 21, the Panamerican Kurash Union announced on its website, www.kurashpanam.org, the first-round election of award-winning Olympian Kirsty Coventry as the only female president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). A significant highlight is that she represents Zimbabwe on the African continent, a significant milestone in the sport at the global level.
The 2nd International Kurash Tournament was held in Mexico City on March 16. Organized by the Mexican Kurash Federation (Femekurash), the tournament overcame various difficult circumstances to successfully hold the athletics competition, which is part of the calendar of activities of the Panamerican Kurash Union and the International Kurash Association.
On March 17, the Panamerican Kurash Union published an article recounting the International Beach Tournaments held over several years in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as a global support for the strengthening of this sport. This sport is promoted as a tourist attraction, for which the Dominican Republic is an excellent mentor.
It was on March 19th that the Dominican Kurash Federation (Fedokurash) presented a promotional video for the upcoming Panamerican Championships, which will take place in the men’s and women’s categories of the ancient discipline originating in the Republic of Uzbekistan. These championships will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from June 12th to 16th, 2025. These championships will serve as qualifying events for the 2025 World Series Pro.
On March 8th, International Women’s Day, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, a major celebration was held in the Plaza María Trínidad Sánchez, a Dominican heroine, where the current year’s theme, dictated by the United Nations, was highlighted: «For all women and girls: Equal Rights.» Other countries such as Costa Rica, Mexico, and Venezuela were also present at the celebration.
The Panamerican Kurash Union announced the holding of a seminar entitled «Destroying Your Fears» on March 7th. The seminar began on March 29th and included the collaboration of the Mexican Kurash Federation (Femekurash) and the coordination of the Pan American Kurash Union’s Technology Department.
The Nicaraguan Kurash Federation (Fenikurash) concluded the Refereeing Update Seminar on March 6th. The seminar was held in the department of Chinandega, whose local association was in charge of organizing the event. A significant representation from Honduras also participated.
