1 DE SEPTIEMBRE – DIA DE LA INDEPENDENCIA DE DE UZBEKISTAN EN SU XXXI ANIVERSARIO
Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- El 1 de septiembre de 1991, es el aniversario de la república independiente de Uzbekistán y es el primero y más importante feriado público del país que celebra el aniversario de la independencia a pleno, de una manera brillante y entretenida.
Cada región (Uzbekistán cuenta con 12 regiones) prepara varios programas festivos donde sea que se encuentre ese día, encontrará fascinantes curiosidades: actuaciones de grupos folclóricos, excitantes eventos deportivos, varios espectáculos y ruidosas ferias artesanales. Por supuesto, qué sería de un festejo sin obsequios?, festivos pilaf (es un modo tradicional de cocinar el arroz, con hortalizas, carne de borrego o res, pollo o a veces pescado, y con condimentos picantes) son servidos en el centro de una gran mesa, la cual reúne a los miembros de la familia, colegas, vecinos y amigos.
Uzbekistán, oficialmente República de Uzbekistán cuya capital es Tashkent con 447,400 kilómetros cuadrados y 29 millones de habitantes la que anteriormente llamada Gran Bukaria, es un país situado en Asia Central y limita al noroeste y al norte con Kazajistán, al sur con Afganistán, al noreste con Kirguistán, al sureste con Tayikistán y al suroeste con Turkmenistán.
Junto con Liechtenstein, es uno de los dos únicos países doblemente aislados del mar, es decir, que desde Uzbekistán se han de atravesar dos fronteras como mínimo para llegar al mar (salvo que se consideren como mares —y no como lagos— el Caspio y el casi desaparecido Mar de Aral).
Nuestra disciplina, Kurash, es oriunda de este país con mas de 3500 años de existencia y muy popular en esa área geográfica del mundo con una expansión en mas de 130 paises y cinco continentes bajo la sombrilla de la International Kurash Association (IKA) en la presidencia de Haider Farman.
La Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK) con su presidente, Jaime Casanova, los demás miembros del Comité Ejecutivo y las Federaciones Nacionales afiliadas felicitan al pueblo uzbeco en este XXI Aniversario de la Independencia de Uzbekistán.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- September 1, 1991, is the anniversary of the independent republic of Uzbekistan and is the first and most important public holiday in the country that celebrates the anniversary of full independence in a bright and entertaining way.
Each region (Uzbekistan has 12 regions) prepares various festive programs wherever you are on that day, you will find fascinating curiosities: performances by folk groups, exciting sports events, various shows and noisy craft fairs. Of course, what would a celebration be without gifts? Festive pilaf (a traditional way of cooking rice, with vegetables, lamb or beef, chicken or sometimes fish, and with spicy condiments) are served in the center of a large table, which brings together family members, colleagues, neighbors and friends.
Uzbekistan, officially the Republic of Uzbekistan, whose capital is Tashkent with 447,400 square kilometers and 29 million inhabitants, which was previously called Greater Bukaria, is a country located in Central Asia and bordered to the northwest and north by Kazakhstan, to the south by Afghanistan, to the northeast with Kyrgyzstan, to the southeast with Tajikistan and to the southwest with Turkmenistan.
Along with Liechtenstein, it is one of the only two countries doubly isolated from the sea, that is, from Uzbekistan at least two borders have to be crossed to reach the sea (unless the Caspian and the almost disappeared Aral Sea).
