KURASH MEXICO CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY II INTERNATIONAL OPEN TOURNAMENT
Mexico City, Mexico.— The II Mexican International Open Kurash Tournament concluded with remarkable success on March 16, 2025, organized by the Mexican Kurash Federation, chaired by Professor Juan Cruz.
This selective event served to form the Mexican National Team, which will represent the country in the 2025 Pan American Kurash Championships, scheduled to take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from June 11 to 17 of this year.
The event was endorsed by the Panamerican Kurash Union (UPK), chaired by Jaime Casanova Martínez, and operated under the technical regulations
of the International Kurash Association (IKA), whose main executive is Kuwaiti citizen Haider Farman.
In this second edition, the states of Guerrero, State of Mexico, Querétaro, Mexico City, University of the State of Mexico, Jalisco and teams from the sister states of Venezuela, Guatemala and Costa Rica participated.
The gold medal winners were Victor Hugo Arreola, Joseph Gómez Soto, Andrés Ramírez, Emmanuel Romero, Franklin Abdib, Jesús Emanuel Rodríguez, Natalia Hernández Morales, among others. Professor Luis Enrique Bogantes Sanabria, Director of Technology of the Panamerican Kurash Union, was present at the activity collaborating with the weigh-in, draw, development of the competitions and final
results of the athletic contest, which was generally coordinated by Professor Milaidy Chirinos.
On the other hand, Diego Patiño directed the refereeing of the competition that took place in children’s, youth and senior, women’s and men’s categories, where Francisco Mena acted as master of ceremonies.
Professor Óscar Morales of the Guatemalan Kurash Federation participated in the organizational efforts of the event and also collaborated with all the activities that made its excellence possible.
Professor Juan Cruz expressed his gratitude to the management of Deportivo
Guelatao and the Cuauhtémoc City Hall, while dedicating the event to the athletes for their effort and dedication on behalf of himself and the Kurash development team in Mexico.
He also highlighted Professor Juan Manuel Salinas, who has demonstrated that true success is measured by the strength of one’s character.
