Unión Panamericana se prepara para la celebración del
XXVII Dia Internacional del Kurash
Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- Ya entrada en la edad adulta y con muchos logros significativos que exhibir, la International Kurash Association (IKA), celebrará el próximo 6 de septiembre, fecha de su fundación, el XXVII Dia Internacional del Kurash.
Esta disciplina que en sus orígenes se practicaba como defensa personal, entrenamiento militar y competición deportiva, hoy día esas tradiciones nos han llevado a la realización de torneos internacionales, continentales y los campeonatos mundiales celebrándose con regularidad en todo el mundo siempre sobre las bases de los valores del deporte fundamentados en la justicia, el respeto y la disciplina.
Esta disciplina, sumamente popular en toda el Asia Central como parte integral de su identidad cultural y con más de 3500 años de existencia, tiene su origen en la Republica de Uzbekistán que hoy se expande en todos los continentes trillando la ruta que la lleve a ser parte del programa olímpico en futuros juegos.
La Unión Panamericana de Kurash (UPK), se integra plenamente a las actividades programadas para esa importante fecha en conjunción de esfuerzos con sus Federaciones Nacionales afiliadas en el sentido más amplio de la palabra.
Son esas Federaciones Nacionales las que tendrán a su cargo intercambios competitivos, charlas del origen y desarrollo de la disciplina, cursos de entrenamiento y seminarios de arbitraje, concursos de pintura, caminatas, en fin, una variedad de actividades que resalten la disciplina mundial haciendo hincapié en el desarrollo en todo el continente americano.

Panamerican Union prepares for the celebration of the 27th International Kurash Day
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- Now well into adulthood and with many significant achievements to showcase, the International Kurash Association (IKA) will celebrate the 27th International Kurash Day on September 6th, the date of its founding. This discipline, originally practiced as self-defense, military training, and sports competition, today’s traditions have led to the holding of international and continental tournaments and world championships, which are held regularly around the world, always based on the values of sport founded on fairness, respect, and discipline.
This discipline, extremely popular throughout Central Asia as an integral part of its cultural identity and with more than 3,500 years of existence, has its origins in the Republic of Uzbekistan and is now expanding to all continents, paving the way for its inclusion in the Olympic program in future games.
The Panamerican Kurash Union (PKU) is fully involved in the activities scheduled for this important date, in conjunction with its affiliated National Federations in the broadest sense of the word.
These National Federations will be responsible for competitive exchanges, talks on the origins and development of the discipline, training courses and refereeing seminars, painting competitions, hikes, and a variety of activities that highlight the world-class discipline with an emphasis on development throughout the Americas.
