Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- Este 6 de septiembre 2025 celebramos el XXII Dia Mundial del Kurash acorde con la fundación de la International Kurash Association (IKA) en la fecha indicada del año 1998.
Ese 6 de septiembre 1998 los convocados protacolarizaron la formación de la International Kurash Associarion en la capital de Uzbekistan, Tashkent, con la participación de 28 países y a partir de ese momento el kurash, está regulado por la Asociación Internacional de Kurash (IKA), la que esta reconocida por el Consejo Olímpico de Asia (OCA) y afiliado a la AMA y la Agencia Internacional de Control (ITA), a la vez que la disciplina participó en los Juegos Asiáticos de Indonesia de 2018 y en los Juegos Asiáticos de Hangzhou de 2023,
siendo la próxima cita los Juegos Asiáticos de Aichi-Nagoya, Japón, de 2026.El programa anual de desarrollo de la IKA beneficia a sus 118 miembros en todo el mundo, quienes participan en los Campeonatos Continentales y Mundiales anuales, cursos y seminarios con el apoyo del International Kurash Institute (IKI).
El primer presidente de la International Kurash Association (IKA) lo fue el uzbeco Komil Yusupov y en la actualidad preside el ciudadano kuwaiti Haider Farman, quienes han logrado desarrollar exitosamente los trabajos que dieron origen a la entidad.

afiliadas para la realización de eventos significativos en la importante fecha y es así que Venezuela, México, Costa Rica, Haiti, Estados Unidos, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile, Honduras, Brasil, Republica Dominicana, entre otras, desarrollaron diferentes actividades con sus atletas, entrenadores, árbitros, directivos, personal de soporte y colaboradores.Todos los organismos de la International Kurash Association han trabajado intensamente en la celebración de este XXVII Dia Mundial del Kurash de la disciplina que a pasos firmes transita el Camino Olímpico para lograr su inclusion en futuros Juegos Okimpicos.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- This September 6, 2025, we celebrate the 22nd World Kurash Day in accordance with the founding of the International Kurash Association (IKA) on the aforementioned date in 1998.On September 6, 1998, the conveners organized the formation of the International Kurash Association in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with the participation of 28 countries. Since then, kurash has been regulated by the International Kurash Association (IKA), which is recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and affiliated with WADA and the International Kurash Testing Agency (ITA). Kurash also participated in the 2018 Indonesian Asian Games and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, with the next event
being the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan.
The IKA’s annual development program benefits its 118 members worldwide. around the world, who participate in the annual Continental and World Championships, courses, and seminars with the support of the International Kurash Institute (IKI).
The first president of the International Kurash Association (IKA) was Uzbek Komil Yusupov, and the current president is Kuwaiti citizen Haider Farman, both of whom have 
successfully developed the work that gave rise to the organization.
Today, the International Kurash Association calls for a celebration of the 27th anniversary of its founding, which will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with the participation of representatives from the various Continental Unions, the Ministry of Sports of Uzbekistan, National Olympic Committees, and personalities from the national and 
international sports world, among others.
The Panamerican Kurash Union promoted the activity among its affiliated National Federations to hold significant events on this important date. Thus, Venezuela, Mexico, United States, Chile, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Haiti, Brasil, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic, among others, developed various activities with their athletes, coaches, referees, managers, support staff, and collaborators.
Commemorating the 3,500 years of existence of this ancient sport, originating in the Republic of Uzbekistan and widely popular throughout Central Asia with global expansion, is part of Kurash’s legacy as the Mother of all Martial Arts.
All the organizations of the International Kurash Association have worked intensively to celebrate this 27th World Kurash Day, a discipline that is steadily advancing along the Olympic path 
to achieve inclusion in future Olympic Games.
