At the initiative of the International Kurash Association (IKA), the city of Bojnord, the center of North Khorasan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will host the 15th World Kurash Seniors Championship from January 31 to February 5, 2026.
This prestigious competition, in addition to bringing together the world’s best Kurash players, will serve to further strengthen the international prestige of Kurash, develop sports diplomacy and cultural dialogue. The championship will also include a meeting of the IKA Directing Committee, the IKA Ordinary Congress, seminars for international referees and coaches, and anti-doping training sessions.
The competitions will be held at the “Alidokh” sports complex in Bojnord. As the organiser, the Iranian Kurash Association is working to ensure a high level of organisational preparation, security, logistics, and modern infrastructure for the participants. Delegations will be met at Mashhad International Airport and provided with local transportation.
The World Championship will be held in accordance with the current rules of the International Kurash Association, and WSP ranking points will be awarded based on the results of the competition.
IKA’s member national federations can participate in this world championship with one athlete in each weight category.
Registration will run from December 15, 2025 to January 10, 2026. The arrival deadline is on January 20, 2026.
Registration will be carried out through the official online system of the IKA.
The city of Bojnurd, as a region combining rich historical heritage and modern sports infrastructure, offers worthy conditions for participants and guests. The XV World Championship will be another important stage in the history of Kurash and will undoubtedly open a new page in the global development of our sport.

El 15.º Campeonato Mundial de Kurash Senior se celebrará en Bojnord, Irán

Por iniciativa de la Asociación Internacional de Kurash (IKA), la ciudad de Bojnord, en el centro de la provincia de Jorasán del Norte de la República Islámica de Irán, acogerá el 15.º Campeonato Mundial de Kurash Senior del 31 de enero al 5 de febrero de 2026.
Esta prestigiosa competición, además de reunir a los mejores jugadores de Kurash del mundo, servirá para fortalecer el prestigio internacional del Kurash, desarrollar la diplomacia deportiva y el diálogo cultural.
El campeonato también incluirá una reunión del Comité Directivo de la IKA, el Congreso Ordinario de la IKA, seminarios para árbitros y entrenadores internacionales y sesiones de formación antidopaje.
Las competiciones se celebrarán en el complejo deportivo “Alidokh” de Bojnord.
Como organizadora, la Asociación Iraní de Kurash trabaja para garantizar un alto nivel de preparación organizativa, seguridad, logística e infraestructura moderna para los participantes.
Las delegaciones serán recibidas en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Mashhad y se les proporcionará transporte local.
El Campeonato Mundial se celebrará de acuerdo con las normas vigentes de la Asociación Internacional de Kurash (IKA), y los puntos de clasificación de la WSP se otorgarán en función de los resultados de la competición.
Las federaciones nacionales miembros de la IKA pueden participar en este campeonato mundial con un atleta por categoría de peso.
El plazo de inscripción estará abierto del 15 de diciembre de 2025 al 10 de enero de 2026. La fecha límite de llegada es el 20 de enero de 2026.
La inscripción se realizará a través del sistema oficial en línea de la IKA.
